WHO IS LOLLO?
Hi, I’m Lollo!
French-born and Italian-grown, I landed in Cape Town in 1996, and I've been in love with this beautiful country ever since. As a lover of life, adventure seeker, and ocean enthusiast, I spend most of my time either capturing moments with my camera or surfing the waves.
I grew up in Milano, where my passion for photography, the sea, and wild adventures was ignited. Although I initially dreamed of becoming a marine biologist, my love for the ocean remains strong, and when I'm not shooting, you can find me on my longboard.
From 1996 to 2020, I captured moments mainly for myself. During lockdown, I turned to photography to cope with heartache, combining my love for the ocean with my passion for photography. This journey led me to photograph friends surfing and eventually evolved into capturing life's vibrant moments.
Street photography in Cape Town has become a favorite, and while I love black and white photography, I’m now exploding with color. Every shot is unique, and I pour all my feelings and emotions into my work—driven by passion.
In 2023, my work was published on the Wavescape website, and I participated in the Shoot 4 Purpose program, culminating in an exhibition at ORMS SCHOOL OF PHOTOGRAPHY. In 2024, I showcased my work at THE LENS exhibition and explored Japan and Hong Kong, fulfilling a bucket list wish.
One of my favorite captures is on display at Kleinsky’s café and Blaawberg Hotel in Cape Town.
I recently exhibited my mixed media photographs at the Hout Bay and Llandudno Art Fair. I feel incredibly grateful for the support of my talented friends and the journey I've embarked on.
